your rights under attack

Have you heard about several bills being passed around congress that would directly go against your 2nd Amendment rights? Gun control has always been a focus of the lefts burning desire to control. They do this under the guise that this will somehow reduce crimes in which guns are used. History has and will continue to prove that the notion is false. Criminals do not give a crap about gun laws! Laws like these adversely affect law abiding citizens. Here is a small summary of what is in HR 127.

  • Firearm and ammo registration through the ATF
  • National Database or all firearms. A database accessible to the public, all federal, state, and local law enforcement, all branches of the military, and all state and local governments
  • Gun licensing required. The AG will issue a gun owner license to possess a gun and ammo. Must be at least 21, pass a Criminal background check, psychological evaluation, complete a 24-hour training course and be insured
  • License suspension: Your gun license may be suspended if you do not follow the rules. And if your license is suspended you must return it and surrender all guns and ammo.
  • License renewal will require a person go through additional training
  • Firearm liability insurance will be a requirement (annual $800 cost)
  • The ban of AR style rifles
  • A ban on shotgun ammo larger than .410
  • Bans .50 caliber ammo
  • Bans magazine over 10 rounds
  • Violations would include a minimum fine of $50,000 and imprisonment of at least 10 years

Below is a link to the actual bill. I suggest that you take the time to read or at least review it. Then contact your US Congressman or US Senator and let them know that you stand in opposition to any laws that are in opposition to your 2nd Amendment rights. Call them, email them but DO SOMETHING! gun control

Joe Biden is pressing congress for what he calls “common sense gun control”. Trouble is that these “common sense” measures do nothing to prevent mass shootings or any other illegal activities involving guns. Bad guys do not give a crap about gun laws. These laws only serve to make legal constitutionally protected gun owners suffer. Look at background checks in 2020. Over 39 million background checks which shattered all previous records. Nearly 11 million more than 2019! How about last month? January 2021 had 4.3 million background checks shattering the single month record! Do you know why? Increasing crime, defunding police, “peaceful protests” AKA riots, COVID-19, and GUN CONTROL. Ammunition sales are also off the charts. If you do not have ammo for your favorite firearm, good luck finding it. And if you do the price will be shocking. We need to contact our Representatives and let them know how you feel about any law that infringes on our 2nd Amendment rights! Do it today!

HB 746 Constitutional Concealed Carry

Why get a Concealed Carry Permit? Well the truth is there are many reasons a person would desire to obtain their permit. Frankly the reasons can be different for each individual and usually are. Sometimes its work related or for home defense. Perhaps you have children and have some concerns over their well-being or maybe you travel extensively. Every reason is real to that person.

You may have heard of N.C. House Bill 746 which would allow for “constitutional concealed carry” in North Carolina should it pass. It has gotten through the House and will now be heard in the Senate. Should it move forward it would then hit the Governor’s desk to be signed into law. I have my doubts about that but we shall see! Even if it becomes law, the bill does not remove the opportunity from a N.C resident from taking a Concealed Carry Handgun class and applying to obtain a CCH Permit.

So why would anyone obtain a CCH Permit IF this becomes law? I have worked with many, many folks from all walks of life. People who are experienced with firearms and those that have never touched a gun. I can say without question that each one of my students have benefited from taking my class. And they would say the same! Carrying a handgun either concealed or open is a BIG responsibility and it is not suitable for everyone. YOU must know the laws! Where can you carry? When can you use self-defense or come to the defense of others? There is so much to learn.

Having a CCH Permit will allow you to carry out of state (in those states with reciprocity). It will allow you to carry in places that charge an admission fee (unless otherwise posted) and in restaurants that serve alcohol (provided you are not drinking). And you wouldn’t need to obtain a pistol purchase permit to buy a firearm. The new law would not allow any of these things. We believe in the 2nd Amendment but at the same time feel strongly that there should be training. If you feel the same, call us today and schedule you Concealed Carry Handgun training to obtain your CCH Permit!

UPDATE 10/10/2017: This bill has not moved since 6/12/2017! It appears to be stalled at this time.

Out of State Resident Concealed Carry Permits

We are often asked about out of state resident Concealed Carry Permits or Licenses. The reason for the question stems for some confusion over other states offering reciprocity with several other states. So in essence if you have that states permit or license you can carry in other states in which that permit is honored or accepted. But what many don’t know is that a North Carolina CCH Permit is accepted in 36 states. NC is among a handful of states with such a large number of reciprocity states!
